Choosing the Right Helical Bevel Gear Motor For Your Application

Helical Bevel Gear Motors feature a low-maintenance design and are designed to last for years. They are also quiet to operate, and offer high load carrying capacity. Choosing the right one for your application can help you achieve optimum performance. If you're not sure about which type of gearmotor to choose, please contact a NORD sales representative.
Worm gearing is the least efficient gearing system. Worm gears typically operate at around 80% efficiency, while helical bevel gearmotors can operate at 90% or higher efficiency. These higher-efficiency motors also produce less heat and audible noise, and allow for smaller motors for the same output torque. In addition, the higher initial cost of a helical bevel gearmotor is more than offset by the lower operational costs.
Helical Bevel Gear Motors are available in both single and double stage configurations. These motors are ideal for light-duty conveying and processing applications. They are washdown and corrosion-resistant and feature a modular design that accommodates a wide variety of applications. This makes them an excellent replacement for worm gear units.
